How to Submit an Abstract

Call for Participation

The Society will again be publishing peer-reviewed proceedings for its national conference in 2015. Conference delegates will therefore again have the option either to present non-peer reviewed papers at the conference (as we have become accustomed to in the past, and for which only an abstract submission is required), or to submit full papers for peer-review with the intention of having their papers published in conference proceedings, if accepted for publication.

 

It is a requirement that full papers submitted for review should contain novel material not published or submitted for publication elsewhere (in a journal or in other conference proceedings), and such papers will be subjected to double-blind peer review. There will be no distinction between the oral delivery at the conference of peer-reviewed papers and non-reviewed papers for which only abstracts were screened during the submission process, other than that the former will be included in the conference proceedings after the conference, if accepted.

Authors can submit abstracts (short descriptions (500 words) of the proposed presentation).

How to submit an abstract

  1. In order to submit an abstract, please first create an author account.
  2. Once you have registered, and after logging in, follow the online wizard to guide you through the submission process. Click here to directly access the Submissions Page. The abstract submission process consists of 4 steps:
    - Step 1 Start: Select a track (Peer-Reviewed or Non-Peer-Reviewed Abstracts). Select Session Type  >>  Abstract. Complete the rest of the screen and Save and continue.
    - Step 2 Enter metadata: Enter information about the presenter/s and the abstract. Save and continue.
    - Step 3 Upload supplementary files: Upload e.g. data sets, sources, figures, tables to complement your abstract, if applicable. Save and continue.
    - Step 4 Confirmation: Click Finish Submission to complete the submission process.
  3. Once you have submitted your abstract, it will be assigned to reviewers. Pending the recommendations from the reviewers, you will be requested to submit the full paper. Please follow the guidelines in the e-mail sent to you to submit the full paper.

Track policies

Non-Peer-Reviewed Abstracts

Submit your abstract in this track if you wish to present your work at the conference, but do not intend to submit a full paper for peer review and publication in the conference proceedings.

Peer-Reviewed Abstracts

Submit your abstract in this track if you wish to (subject to approval of the abstract) ultimately submit a full length paper for peer review and publication in the conference proceedings.
