Last modified: 2013-06-20

Abstract

The software name “Mathematica” often conjures up visions of abstract mathematics, or solving theoretical models. However,  Mathematica is a practical research, teaching and industrial tool that is ideally suited to solving practical engineering problems.

The recently released version 9 contains functionality for analyzing  Markov chains and queues, Reliability Analysis, Data Analytics and visualization as well as CDF interactive report generation.

The presentation will include an overview of Mathematica’s capabilities, with specific focus on engineering applications, and practical data analytics.  We will also showcase some applications developed for local clients.
